Spaces on mattresses: 6. * Mobile network * Just behind the hut (NE corner), modest signal (Orange) but enough at least for texts (SMS); calls also get through, though sometimes with drops. Fairly small, the upstairs sleeping area is a mezzanine. Two tables (one too high, used to dump gear on), one bench, seven chairs. The forest right next door means firewood isn't much of an issue. Several saws available. No drafts. For water, if the catchment is shut off (winter) and there's no snow, there's a ford 600 m to the NE, called "Fontaine des Boeufs," where water is present almost year-round. 8 spaces if people squeeze in. The shepherd's house is attached. The young shepherds are very friendly. — Shown on Top25 maps 3337OT "Dévoluy" Interesting for a stage around these magnificent spots that are the Col du Lauzon and the Aiguilles de la Jarjatte. Even though it's a bit low-lying/not very wild. Coming from La Jarjatte, the hut is on the way down, 300m behind the pass, at the edge of the forest, where a forest track comes out. Coming from the Lac du Lauzon, it's hidden by the forest AND the terrain until the very last moment; it may be worth veering towards the pass for a better view. Reckon 1h30 from the Jarjatte valley car park, 1h30 from the Col du Lauzon, or via the forest track on the north side. Coming from the Grand Ferrand picnic area, allow a good hour on a wide trail.
