Refuge du camp des Rochilles
The place
Unstaffed refuge located at 2,410 m in the Cerces-Thabor massif (Savoie / Hautes-Alpes), occupying part of a long military building of the 93rd RAM and the 2nd REG. Single room fitted with 2x2 bunk beds and 2x1 single beds (5 mattresses). Door and window recently replaced, ceiling redone and walls repainted (late 2025). Access from the Plan Lachat car park (south of Valloire) via a trail or track heading northeast to the Camp des Rochilles military camp; the refuge is one of the northernmost buildings, marked "refuge" in large letters on the door.
Getting there
Depuis le parking de Plan Lachat, au sud de Valloire, suivre le sentier/piste en direction du camp militaire des Rochilles. Le refuge se trouve dans l'un des bâtiments les plus au nord du camp, la mention « refuge » étant inscrite sur la porte.
The setting
Le refuge occupe une petite partie d'un grand bâtiment de casernement militaire (camp des Rochilles), aux murs épais, dans un cadre d'altitude du massif des Cerces. Point d'eau à proximité alimenté par le lac du Grand Ban, à débit variable selon la saison.
