Refuge des Princes

The place

Old stone building at 907 m on the former tourist route through the Forêt de Saoû (Drôme), near the Porte de Barry. Building open to the elements: no more doors or windows, no bedding or indoor furniture. Only usable remains: two hearths on the east and west sides and an outdoor picnic table. Bivouacking tolerated within 100 m of the refuge for a maximum of one night, from 8pm to 8am. No fitted water point, but a spring in the woods to the east, reached via the old forest road.
