Refuge des Bouillouses

The place

Staffed refuge at 2005 m in the Capcir, on the shores of the Lac des Bouillouses (Pyrénées-Orientales, Cerdagne-Capcir). Initially managed by the Club Alpin Français from 1991, it is now owned by the Communauté de communes Pyrénées Catalanes — a full renovation and re-equipping from November 2018 to September 2022 for 1.5 million euros, reopening in December 2022. Capacity for 46 beds in rooms and dormitories during the main season (December-April and May-October), and 12 beds in winter under semi-staffed management for ski mountaineers. A major stage on the GR 10.
