Refuge de Pré Clos
The place
Unstaffed, open-access refuge at 1830 m, on a small grassy terrace with a clear view over the Ubaye massif, in the Embrunais area (Hautes-Alpes, managed by the ONF). Sleeps 6: table and benches on the ground floor, a sleeping loft on wooden boards upstairs. Well-insulated roof, keeping the dormitory mild even without heating. A fine spring and its basin nearby. Access from Embrun via the hamlet of Caléyère, then the road to the Forêt car park (1587 m), continuing on the Sentier des Fontainiers to the clearing where the refuge stands.
Getting there
Depuis Embrun, rejoindre en voiture le hameau de Caléyère puis suivre la route jusqu'à son terminus au parking de la Forêt (1587 m). De là, un chemin traverse une mélézin et rejoint la piste des Fontainiers, pour environ 45 minutes de marche.
The setting
Non gardé, ce refuge à 1830 m relève du massif des Écrins (Hautes-Alpes) et est géré par l'ONF. Il comprend une table, deux bancs, un espace de couchage à l'étage pour 6 personnes, une cheminée, et bénéficie d'une fontaine à proximité ainsi que d'une jolie vue sur le massif de l'Ubaye.
