Refuge de Malinvern

The place

Staffed refuge at 1836 m in the commune of Vinadio (CN), Stura di Demonte valley (Italian Maritime Alps). Built in 1940, destroyed by fire and vandalism in 1943 after World War II, rebuilt in its current modern architecture from the 1990s onward at the initiative of the CAI Ceva section which still manages it. Capacity 46 beds spread across 8 rooms of 2, 3, 6 and 9 people, on two floors: 1 room for 2, 2 rooms for 3, 2 rooms for 6 and 2 dormitories for 9. Hot water, toilets and showers on each floor (4 bathrooms in total). Staffed season from June to September. Winter room with mattresses and blankets available.
