Refuge de la Tournette (ou Blonay Dufour)

The place

Former refuge at 1774 m on a rocky promontory overlooking Lake Annecy, in the Bornes-Aravis massif. Closed to the public since 2009 — little chance of reopening. The building is now occupied by a shepherd, access is forbidden to hikers, and the surrounding area is off-limits to bivouacking and camping. Remains an emblematic visual landmark of the massif seen from below.
