Forest Cabin: A Rustic Refuge in the Heart of Nature The Forest Cabin, set deep in the forest, is a small shelter in good condition, fitted with a stove, a table and chairs. There is no sleeping arrangement, but an entry porch serves as a wood store to protect the entrance from bad weather. Natural Environment Water: Available from the nearby stream (needs treating due to livestock). Wood: Plentiful nearby to feed the stove. Access and Location Mapping: IGN 1: OT, Pontarlier. Access from Jougne: Take the D 423 towards Entre-les-Fourgs, then follow a forest road that runs along the Jougnena stream valley. The cabin is at the end of this road, on the upper edge, after a barrier and a log-storage clearing. Access from Switzerland: Possible to reach the cabin via the Col de l'Aiguillon, following the ridge south-west. Cost and Funding Free: The cabin is open access. Maintenance: Provided by the Office National des Forêts (ONF). Availability and Booking Opening: Available year-round, open access. Booking: Not applicable.
