The place

Refuge at 1017 m in the Hautes-Vosges (Haute-Saône, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté), easy access from the Ballon d'Alsace. Roof and chimney flue renovated by the ONF (French national forestry office) in 2014, wood stove installed in the fireplace. Many small utensils and tools available (saw, pot, brooms, shovel, grill, axe, etc.). Spring captured 10 m from the cabin. Large stock of wood kept dry in the first room and around. Unstable ladder giving access to the upper floor where about 10 people sleep.
