The place
Forest refuge in the Parc naturel régional du Jura vaudois, set on the heights between Romainmôtier and the Col du Marchairuz. Classic access via the Marchairuz road, then the Cerniaz path and the Jorette path. A modest building with a bench, table and stove, mezzanine accessible by ladder; part of it serves as a barn. A refuge representative of the network of unstaffed forest cabins in the Jura vaudois, generally open to the public and maintained by the municipalities or the forest wardens. Typical setting: spruce and beech forests, wooded pastures, views over the Lake Geneva basin on clear days. Bring fuel and sleeping gear.
