Refuge de la Boule
The place
Rustic refuge built in autumn 2009 on the Sentier de la Boule, in the Zec Lavigne in Lanaudière (Quebec). The trail starts at a footbridge over the L'Assomption River near the Refuge Swaggin, then follows the river for about 2 km to reach the falls-and-rapids area of the Bouleau before arriving at Lac de la Boule, where the refuge stands. A diverse, isolated forest setting, near the Boule river. Part of the Sentier national de la Matawinie / Sentier national Lanaudière network, linking Lanaudière to Mastigouche. Managed by the Parcs régionaux of the MRC de Matawinie; accommodation by advance reservation.
