Refuge de l 'Union

The place

Large hut at 1067 m at the Col de la Vierge in the southern Vosges massif, between Cornimont and La Bresse (Vosges, Grand Est). Concrete floor and a large fireplace (no wood stove). Furniture: two tables and two benches inside, plus a picnic table under an awning. Spring-fed water point about 300 m away, marked by a sign on the road climbing up from the Lac des Corbeaux, with sufficient flow in summer. Upper floor (accessed via an outside ladder) locked.
