Refuge de Certascan
The place
Staffed FEEC refuge at 2240 m on the shores of the Llac de Certascan, in the Alt Pirineu Natural Park (Vall de Cardós, Pallars Sobirà, Catalonia). Spectacular balcony overlooking the Vall de Cardós. Inaugurated on 19 October 1975, originally built by FECSA for hydroelectric works, with major renovations in 1993. 40 staffed places, winter section with 10 places with mattresses and blankets. Hot showers, wood stove, limited internet, meals, drinks, WC. Webcam available (refugicertascan.cat). On-foot access from Tavascan (5h15), from Montalto via the Llurri path (3h), or from the end of the Canelada track (45 min). Vehicle access via Tavascan to the Montalto dam.
