The place
Large ONF building at 1741 m on the GR10 and the Tour du Canigou, just below the path (Conflent, Pyrénées-Orientales). Two-part building, under renovation but providing dry accommodation for around ten people. Tables, benches, cupboard, stove with a recent flue liner (2021). First room with a mezzanine for 3-4 people, second room with a mezzanine for 3 people and bunk beds for 6 people. Fountain and barbecue next to the refuge. Access from Vernet-les-Bains via the old transhumance route "le cami ramader" towards the Porteille de Dalt.
