Refuge d 'Asco-Stagnu

The place

Staffed refuge at 1422 m in the Monte Cinto massif, commune of Asco, in the upper Asco valley (Corsica), within the territory of the Parc naturel régional de Corse. Located in the small Haut-Asco ski resort, to the left of the ski lift. Capacity 32 indoor spots in separate 4-person rooms (no dormitory), sanitary facilities with hot water and showers. Tent pitches along the nearby river. On-site shop (cakes, salads, fruit, local produce, eggs). Hearty evening meal: Corsican soup, pasta with braised veal, local cheese. Third accommodation on the GR 20 from Calenzana, stage 3 (Carozzu - Ascu Stagnu) and starting point for stage 4. Unlike most Corsican refuges open only from June to September, Asco-Stagnu is open year-round with hours varying by season. Accessible by road with bus shuttles, allowing the GR 20 to be left or stages to be split.
