Refuge communal de Lachat

The place

Very well insulated and very pleasant refuge at 1543 m in the Vanoise (Savoie), built and maintained by the municipality of Saint-Jean-de-Belleville. Open, but use requires authorization from the town hall (front desk at the chalet) at 04 79 24 02 11. Small, efficient, smoke-free stove that can hold a pot for cooking, table for 6-8 people, 3 storage cupboards, candle lighting. Capacity 10 places. Access along the track from "le Villaret" or from the Pierre Larron communal chalet via a forest track skirting the mountain to the north.
