Rauhalmhütte
The place
The Rauhalmhütte is a self-catering cabin of the German Alpine Club, Munich section, set at 1400 m in the Bavarian Prealps beneath the Seekarkreuz, in the Tegernsee area. It offers 16 mattress spaces in a two-part dormitory above the living room. Lighting is solar-powered, with no electrical outlets or dedicated caretaking since the cabin sits in a hollow. Running water in front of the cabin and a large tank to fill from the hose inside. The fastest access is from Klamm near Kreuth via the Schwarzentennalm, about 20 minutes past the Schwarzentennalm.
Getting there
From Klamm near Kreuth via Schwarzentennalm (short), or from Lenggries-Hohenburg via Sulzersteig and Lenggrieser Hütte (3h-3h30).
