The place
Self-service cabin run by Trondhjems Turistforening (DNT) in the Trollheimen massif (Trøndelag, Norway), at 1,317 metres elevation in beautiful hiking terrain with day trips available in every direction. 18 sleeping places in the bedrooms plus 3 extra spaces in the living room, 21 places in total. The building was constructed in 1949, clad in natural stone, and extended and renovated during the summer and autumn of 1993. Open year-round, equipped with a gas stove and everything needed to prepare and serve meals. Marked routes lead east to Vangshaugen and Grøvudalshytta, south to Aursjøhytta, and west to Reinsvassbu. The fastest summer access is from the road at Grønnvollsteinen, 3 hours 30 minutes' walk on a marked trail.
