Rangipo Hut

The place

Serviced-level hut managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) at 1,556 metres elevation in Tongariro National Park, Tukino area (central North Island, New Zealand). A stop on the Round the Mountain Track. Twenty bunks, wood stove, and annual firewood supply provided (helicoptered in). Rates until 30 June 2026: NZD 25/night adult, NZD 12.50 child (5-17 years), free under 5. Online DOC booking required (bookings open until 30 June 2027), no places held for walk-ins; same-day booking possible until 8 pm; NZD 10 service fee by phone or visitor centre.
