The place

DNT cabin on the Råke peninsula in the municipality of Solund (Vestland), one of the westernmost cabins in the DNT network. A former tenant farmer's house (husmannsplass) 250 years old, and fragile: the building must be handled with care. Managed by Ytre Sogn Turlag. Eight bunks in a shared room and mezzanine. Facilities: gas stove, wood stove. No electricity. Drinking water provided in containers at the entrance; well water for washing up. Waste disposal is the guests' responsibility. Open year-round with the standard DNT key. Rate: 1000 NOK per night for DNT members, 1500 NOK for non-members. Restrictions: dogs not allowed, tents not allowed on the protected grounds, fires and grills directly on the ground not allowed, do not throw stones into the sea. Access: 20-minute walk from the regional road (parking at Strand).
