The place

Unstaffed DNT cabin managed by DNT, on the slopes of Helgelandsbukken near the Okstindbreen glacier (Nordland, Norway). 30 beds in the main cabin across 7 rooms + 7 beds in the Klemetstua emergency cabin (37 total). During summer (mid-June to August), volunteer hosts are on site and the cabin is unlocked; outside the season, access requires a DNT key. Dedicated dog room (separate entrance to the east, two large kennels). Indoor toilet, water pump, solar-powered 230V electricity, gas cooking. Bedding provided (duvets, pillows); bring a sleeping bag liner. Bring food, manage your own waste. Summer: volunteer host stays available with free accommodation at Klemetstua.
