Raatejärvi autiotupa

The place

Former Metsähallitus autiotupa (unstaffed wilderness hut) north of the Peuran polku trail, on the shore of Lake Raatejärvi (Reisjärvi, Pohjois-Pohjanmaa). Recently converted into a vilpola (cooling-off shelter) next to a new vuokratupa (rental hut) with a spacious sauna: hikers can grill sausages here and cool off as a complement to the sauna. The former autiotupa has been taken out of overnight use to preserve the privacy of guests renting the neighboring vuokratupa. Also accessible from the Kuivajärvi parking area without walking the full Peuran polku trail. Landscape of bogs, rock outcrops, and lakes, with berry and mushroom picking.
