The place

Free wilderness hut between the Puussasvaara mountains and Lake Puussasjärvi, near the Norway-Finland border, in the municipality of Kautokeino (Finnmark, Norway), though, somewhat paradoxically, managed by Metsähallitus on the Finnish side. North Sami name Buvssasvárri. Located on the Hetta-Kilpisjärvi snowmobile route. Hearth-fireplace, benches, table, and sleeping berths. Free-access hut under the Finnish autiotupa system (first come, first served, no booking, maximum 1-2 nights).
