The place

Serviced 8-bunk DOC hut in Whanganui National Park (Manawatū/Whanganui). Small grey building with aluminium window frames and a wooden deck, set deep in native forest. Rates (until 30 June 2026): NZ$25 adult, NZ$12.50 youth (5-17 years), free under 4, via Serviced Hut Ticket (green) or youth ticket (red) in the honesty box, or a 12-month Backcountry Hut Pass.
