The place

Basic 4-bunk DOC hut located at 1,077 m in the Kokatahi and Whitcombe rivers area, near Hokitika (West Coast). Free access, no charge. The approach route is no longer actively maintained by DOC: occasional passage clearance is provided by the Permolat association; independent navigation and technical skills are recommended.
