Rifugio Pradidali
The place
Rifugio Pradidali in the heart of the Dolomites, in the Pale di San Martino group at 2278 m — Trentino (CAI Veneto). The Pale di San Martino form the largest dolomitic group; the refuge lies within the perimeter of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. Classic access from Cant del Gal in Val Canali (1180 m) via trail CAI 709: ~3 h, 1100 m of ascent, medium-to-difficult level with a few sections secured by cables. Alternative from San Martino di Castrozza: Colverde cable car then Rosetta up to 2700 m, descent to Rifugio Rosetta, 1h30 of ups and downs to Passo Pradidali then a half-hour descent. Base for very fine climbing routes of all levels including the famous "Buhl crack" and routes by great alpinists; quick access to several splendid via ferratas (Porton/Velo, Nico Gusella, etc.).
