Posto tappa (waystation) on the Grande Traversata delle Alpi (GTA), Maritime/Ligurian Alps, province of Cuneo (Piedmont, Italy), at 1201 m, in the upper Stura di Demonte valley area. Municipal or inn-style accommodation for GTA hikers, with rooms and a kitchen. Alpine area of larches and pastures.
Getting there
Depuis Cuneo, via Borgo San Dalmazzo puis la route régionale SR21 (environ 45km). Le lieu constitue une étape du GTA (Grande Traversata delle Alpi), sur le tronçon reliant Bagni di Vinadio à Sambuco.

A bit of history
Établissement fondé en 1882 sous le nom d'« Osteria della Pace » à Sambuco (Val Stura). Dès les années 1950, c'était une étape obligée pour les voyageurs franchissant la frontière, réputée pour sa cuisine traditionnelle. Toujours tenu par la même famille.
A word from the warden
Géré en famille (Bartolo, Alda, leur fille Manuela et son mari Raffaele), aujourd'hui exploité comme « Albergo della Pace », hôtel-restaurant. Ouvert toute l'année.
