The place
Two small self-service cabins facing each other, one of them a former myllytupa (mill cabin) above the Porontimajoki river, on the Karhunkierros trail (Oulanka National Park, Kuusamo, Pohjois-Pohjanmaa, Finland). Four bunks on the platform, fireplace and stove. On site: day shelter, fire shelter, kitchen, woodshed, toilets.

About 1 km from a road, so sometimes very busy. A 16.5 km (≈6 h) leg on the Karhunkierros, north of Iso Kuikkalampi / Kumpuvaara shelter (3.5 km).
