The place

A Metsähallitus autiotupa (unstaffed wilderness hut) located in the municipality of Ylitornio in Finnish Lapland, near the Pohjasenlampi pond. A small, open, free-to-use cabin with three sleeping spaces and a heating stove. No sauna, no firewood service, no water supply, no toilets installed. Free use under Metsähallitus's general rules for autiotupa: open and unlocked, stay limited to one or two nights without prior booking. Nearest hut: Palokkaanlampi, 3.6 km away.
