The place
Heritage-listed hut located in Kosciuszko National Park, Tantangara area (New South Wales, Australia), at 1,243 meters altitude. Accessible via the Blue Waterhole Firetrail. Built by the Australian Estates of Cooma, a wealthy pastoral company: in the 1930s it was a luxury site with hot water and electricity. Weatherboard building roughly 7.5 × 7.5 meters, four rooms, fibro-cement interior, iron fireplace with concrete hearth; outdoor toilet renovated in 2023. Major restoration carried out between 1983 and 1985. Maintained by the Kosciuszko Huts Association (KHA), a volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the park's huts.
