The place

A stone-and-timber mountain shelter designed by architect Domagoj Diklić, just below the Vlaški grad summit at 1,280 m, in the Velebit massif on the Paklenica National Park side. Built and maintained by the Planinarsko društvo Paklenica of Zadar, it is always open without a key and entirely free of charge. Day capacity of 20 people, of which 10 sleeping places are actually usable overnight. USB phone charger, water source nearby. Cliff-edge terrace with views over the Velebit forests. A stop on the route to Sveto brdo (Velebit's 2nd highest peak); about 4 hours from the staffed Paklenica refuge, and 1 hour from the Ivine Vodice shelter.
