The place

Unguarded hut at 1520 m in the Beaufortain massif (Savoie), reached from Grand Naves via the Darbeleys, or from the Glaize valley via a small forest road branching off the D93 at the switchback at 1111 m near Grande Maison. A metal footbridge crosses the stream upstream of the hut. Equipment: efficient, well-insulated wood stove (recent insulated windows), reserve of dry wood and paper, containers, basic crockery, table, benches and chairs. Capacity of 8 places on mattresses. Refuge maintained by its users — bring dry wood to season.
