Piedra de los Pájaros (Bird Rock) in the Sierra Nevada, south slope (Alpujarra), province of Granada (Andalusia, Spain), at 2536 m elevation. High-altitude refuge/shelter on the ascent routes of Mulhacén (3479 m, highest peak on the Iberian Peninsula). Mediterranean alpine zone with dwarf junipers and endemic xerophilous grasslands, national park.
Getting there
Accès par la piste de Cañar jusqu'à environ 1700m, puis en VTT jusqu'à environ 2300m, puis env. 300m de dénivelé à pied hors-piste, sur le tracé reliant les abris de reboisement entre Piedra de los Pájaros, la Loma de Cáñar et le Peñón Colorado.
