Pfeifer Bivouac

The place

A small, basic 2-bunk bivouac managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Arthur's Pass National Park, on the Canterbury/West Coast boundary (New Zealand), in the Hokitika area. Free access. The approach track is not maintained by DOC: the Permolat association carries out occasional upkeep and publishes up-to-date route information; further resources are available on the Remote Huts website. Basic bunks only, bring your own equipment.
