Øvre Fjellstul
The place
Øvre Fjellstul is an unstaffed DNT-network cabin at 815 m elevation, a former mountain farm (seter) leased by the Kongsberg og Omegns Turistforening (KOT). 16 beds in total (10 in winter, 4 additional in summer). Booking possible: a pre-booking holds a bed until 7pm, after which unclaimed beds go to walk-ins. Cabin locked with a DNT key, usable year-round. At least one member of the group must hold a current DNT membership. Marked trails and ski tracks run from Øvre Fjellstul to Daggrø and Lufsjå and on to the Hardangervidda, or to Eriksbu and Sigridsbu on the Blefjell. Important: closed from 1 May to 10 June 2026 to protect wild reindeer during calving.
