The place

A Wanderheim of the Schwarzwaldverein Gaggenau section, built in 1934 right at the foot of the Orgelfelsen, a granite rock formation (Forbachgranit) above Reichental in the Reichentaler Wald (commune of Gernsbach, Murg valley, northern Black Forest). The rock, which owes its name to the vertical arrangement of its granite "organ pipes", was officially named Orgelfels in 1955 by the Reichental music society. From the rock as from the Wanderheim, there is a wide view over the Murg valley and the western hills. A cabin available to hikers and climbers, a base for local climbing and the trails of the Murgtal. Bad Herrenalb lies 7 km to the north.
