The place

Refuge at 2625 m at the foot of Monte Rosa, in the Indren basin (Gressoney-La-Trinité, Aosta Valley, Italy — not Switzerland). A one-of-a-kind vegan alpine refuge. Draws its drinking water directly from the Salza spring and uses the power of the Indren stream to run its hydroelectric plant. Straddling Italy and Switzerland, remarkable views over one of the largest glaciers in the Alps and over numerous 4000 m peaks, long alpine valleys and quick access to Saas-Fee, Zermatt in Switzerland, Macugnaga, Gressoney and Alagna in Italy. Summer season: mid-June to end of September. Winter season: early December to end of April.
