The place

A rental cabin (vuokratupa) managed by Metsähallitus in the Evo hiking area (southern Finland), on the shore of Lake Alinen Rautjärvi. A small traditional building with an entrance hall, main room and bedroom, plus a sauna in the yard. Four sleeping places in total: two beds in the main room and two in the bedroom. Bread oven and wood-burning stove in the main room, stove in the bedroom, firewood provided for heating. Well with hand pump between the sauna and the storage shed. A popular spot in summer during the paimenviikko herding weeks. The cabin is rented in full, booking via Eräluvat.fi.
