The place

Self-service hytte of DNT Oslo og Omegn, the most frequented in the association, at the center of Jotunheimen (Luster municipality). Crossroads of the major routes between Leirvassbu, Gjendebu, Fondsbu and Skogadalsbøen. Capacity of 52 beds, of which 24 can be booked in advance and 28 are walk-in. Equipped kitchen, bedding provided, wood-stove heating, gas cooking, no electricity, tents allowed, dog room with 6 kennels. Accessible peaks: Mjølkedalstinden 2,137 m, Raudalseggi 2,168 m. Summer: 4 h from Leirvassbu, 5 h from Gjendebu/Fondsbu; winter: limited access by snowmobile from Tyin or Leirvassbu. Open mid-February to mid-October, closed in winter except during Easter. Access via DNT key.
