The place
Manned hut of the Swiss Alpine Club at 3,258 m in the Bernese Oberland, run by the SAC Biel section. Forty beds in season, fifteen places in the winter room. Described as the eastern gateway to the Alps' largest glaciers, it opens onto the Aletsch-Oberaar-Fiescher glacial complex. Open for the 2026 season from 27 June to 4 October. The Berghaus Oberaar and the Panoramastrasse remain closed for renovations during the summer of 2026.
