The place

Alpine hut of the New Zealand Alpine Club at the Whakapapa ski field, at 2,040 m on Delta Ridge above Delta Corner, on the north-west slopes of Mount Ruapehu in Tongariro National Park (North Island, Manawatū-Whanganui). Original club hut built in 1950 and extended four times since. Capacity 20 beds. Fully equipped: electricity, microwave oven, stoves, toasters, heating, drying room, running water and flush toilets. Winter base for ski/mountaineering and summer base for rock climbing/alpine tramping. Booking and rates via the NZAC online shop.
