Nouvelle Jasse de la Chau
The place
Alpine pasture building along the GR 91, in the Réserve naturelle des Hauts Plateaux du Vercors, at 1600 m. The main masonry building is locked and used by the shepherd during the summer grazing season; a small storage space remains accessible under the sheepfold. The old building next door is open, with the lower section used for animals and the upper section reachable via an old wooden staircase (bare floorboards only). Should not be considered a place to sleep in summer. Reserve regulations: dogs, fires and camping are prohibited, bivouacking allowed only from 5 pm to 9 am, foraging and littering are forbidden.
Getting there
Depuis la maison forestière de Pré Gandu, suivre la route forestière ; le site se trouve en bordure du GR91, au sein de la Réserve naturelle des hauts plateaux du Vercors.
The setting
Cette cabane à 1600 m, dans le massif du Vercors, se trouve dans la Réserve naturelle des hauts plateaux du Vercors. Le site regroupe un bâtiment en pierre verrouillé et un ancien bâtiment ouvert équipé de matelas mousse, à vocation pastorale : le berger l'occupe l'été avant sa fermeture. Le bivouac n'y est toléré qu'entre 17h et 9h.
