The place

Unstaffed DNT hut of Haugesund Turistforening located on the island of Utsira, off Haugesund (Rogaland). Capacity for forty-three people, open year-round. Facilities: running water, electricity, cooker, dishwasher, fridge, several bathrooms with showers, wood heating. Hosts handle meals, dishwashing, and cleaning. Sleeping bags not allowed directly on the bedding, sheets required. Building adapted for reduced mobility: accessible bathroom and the Kvalvik room for wheelchair users. Dedicated dog room (Dalen, two beds, outside entrance); leash required from 1 April to 20 August. Access by boat from Haugesund (about 1 h 10), limited parking on site. Key retrieval via a code box at the entrance. Check-in 2 pm. Booking via the DNT platform, discounted rate for members. The hut is associated with the historic Utsira twin lighthouse (Norway's highest-located twin lighthouse), a notable cultural monument.
