The place
Staffed hut at 1,870 m on the Artavaggio plateau in Valsassina (municipality of Barzio, Lecco province), between Val Taleggio and Valtorta, in the Orobie Prealps. Twenty-four beds spread across nine rooms. Built in 1968, run since then by the Esposito family (whose grandfather, an experienced manager of several huts in the Lecco area, had been active since 1934). A triangular roof silhouette evoking the nearby Monte Sodadura.
