Nävernäsan
The place
A 117-hectare nature reserve about 12 km northeast of Näsåker (Sollefteå municipality, Västernorrland, Sweden), centered on a summit over 500 m. A rest shelter and barbecue area at the summit, near the 1939 fire lookout tower. Impressive view from the summit, with an even better panorama from the tower. Primary coniferous forest with pines over 250 years old and spruces around 200 years old, managed peat bogs with boardwalks, and deadwood hosting rare fungi and the European spruce bark beetle. Established in 2016 by the Länsstyrelsen (County Administrative Board) of Västernorrland. Marked winter snowmobile trail up to the summit.
