The place

Open wilderness hut (autiotupa) Neakkela Gaskastohpu on the Hetta-Näkkälä trail, on the banks of the small Kalaoja river (a tributary of the Närpistöjoki), about 15 km north of Hetta in the municipality of Enontekiö (Northern Lapland, Finland). An important stopover for hikers between Hetta and the Sami village of Näkkälä. Crossing the Näkkälänjoki nearby is possible, entering the Pöyrisjärvi wilderness area. Free of charge.
