The place
Guarded Swiss Alpine Club hut at 2,788 m within the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage site, between Kandersteg and Stechelberg, reachable only by glacier crossing. The SAC's first self-sufficient hut: a flagship pilot project for environmental sustainability. Rooms of 2 to 10 beds. 2026 season from 13 June to 27 September. Regional specialities and home cooking, genuine alpine hospitality. An educational mission: direct observation of glacier retreat. Run by Stefanie Künzi and her team.
