The place

Open wilderness hut (autiotupa) located in an open fell area on the Pallas-Ylläs trail (Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, Finnish Lapland), about 11.3 km from Pallas. The cabin is closed until further notice, a closure applying to all structures (dry toilets, wood shelter); a water point is still available, but camping is not permitted. Check current conditions (water, wood, accommodation) on Luontoon.fi before setting out. An important waypoint on the long, nearly 70 km Ylläs-Pallas route, roughly midway between Pallas and Ylläs.
