The place
Hut at 3,145 m in the South Tyrolean part of the Stubai Alps, near the Austrian border, managed by the AVS (Alpenverein Südtirol). Built in 1891, it is one of five huts in the Eastern Alps only reachable via glacier crossing. Open in summer season, base for alpine routes on the Stubai peaks.

Getting there
Fastest route: from the Dresdner Hütte (2,308 m) in the Stubaital via the Stubai glacier lifts, about 6 h walk with a glacier crossing (equipment required).

Built in 1891, managed successively by the DAV, the ANA and then the AVS.

Gardienne indiquée : Heidi von Wettstein. Ouverture saisonnière estivale uniquement (mi/fin juin à mi-septembre), avec un local d'hiver non chauffé le reste de l'année. Capacité d'environ 20-23 places en dortoir plus 65-70 places matelas.
