Mt Arthur Hut

The place

DOC serviced hut in Kahurangi National Park (Nelson/Tasman), at about 1,300 m. Shared platform bunks with mattresses. Wood stove, wood supplied, rainwater tank, long-drop toilet. Bring sleeping bag, utensils, fire lighters, toilet paper. Access in 1 hr 30 from Flora car park, itself 75 km from Nelson. Graham Valley Road is steep and narrow, 4WD required (chains in winter). Rates until June 30, 2026: adult NZ$25, youth NZ$12.50, children free. Online reservation required — no places held for walk-ins. Same-day up to 8 pm subject to availability. Backcountry Hut Pass accepted.
